Who we are

Kyneto PDF is made by Pale Blue Apps, the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at [email protected] with any question about this policy or your data.

Your documents stay on your device

Every document operation (opening, merging, splitting, extracting, deleting pages, rotating, compressing, signing, filling forms, annotating, watermarking, numbering, scanning, OCR, removing passwords and exporting) runs entirely on your device.

We never upload, store, read or transmit your files, their contents, their file names or the passwords you enter. There is no Kyneto PDF account and no server-side document storage.

What we do collect

Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): anonymous, aggregated usage events such as which screens are opened and which tools are used, plus coarse device and app information. We use this to see which features matter and where people get stuck.

Crash diagnostics (Google Firebase Crashlytics): crash and error reports, including device model, operating system version, app version and a stack trace, so we can fix defects.

Remote configuration (Google Firebase Remote Config): fetches settings for the app. It sends a device identifier for the purpose of delivering the configuration.

Purchases (RevenueCat): if you buy a subscription, RevenueCat processes the purchase receipt issued by Apple or Google together with an anonymous identifier, so the app knows your subscription is active. We never see your payment card. The payment is handled by Apple or Google.

Legal basis and retention

We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it for analytics and crash diagnostics, and on the performance of our contract with you for subscription data.

Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for the periods set out in their documentation and are deleted automatically afterwards. Subscription records are kept for as long as you hold a subscription and for the period required by tax and accounting law.

Who the data is shared with

Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) and RevenueCat act as our processors. Apple and Google act as the merchants of record for subscriptions. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because the app has no account, the data we hold is pseudonymous; email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to identify and act on your records.

You can also stop all analytics and crash reporting by uninstalling the app, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Kyneto PDF is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data we will update this page and change the date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app or on the store listing.
